Legal Aid of North Carolina (LANC) is committed to equal justice for all people.  We help children, families, individuals, and migrant workers solve problems that affect their basic needs, such as housing, safety from domestic violence or abuse, health care, subsistence income, environmental safety, and consumer loan problems.

Legal Aid of North Carolina (LANC) is a statewide, nonprofit 501(c)3 law firm that provides free legal services in civil matters to low-income people in order to ensure equal access to justice and to remove legal barriers to economic opportunity.

Legal Aid of North Carolina works closely with many organizations, grantors and programs to help deliver legal representation in civil matters to (and ensure equal justice for) low-income people in North Carolina.  The "Glossary of Terms" is a list (in alphabetical order) of many of such entities, as well as key operational terms.
