The North Carolina Department of Revenue (NCDOR) has announced a
program to help taxpayers who owe state taxes.

How Does It Work?

NCDOR may waive certain penalties and fees and offer payment
plans. This program could help taxpayers avoid collections
such as levies and garnishment. It could save taxpayers
35-40%.

Who Is Eligible?

Taxpayers who have properly filed their tax returns with NCDOR
and have received notice of unpaid taxes before January 1, 2012,
may be eligible for this program. The program ends on
April 30, 2012.

Taxpayers who have not filed a return or who do not currently
have an outstanding tax liability are not eligible.
Taxpayers who are subjects of ongoing criminal investigation or
prosecution are not eligible.
