Background:
Legal Aid of North Carolina (LANC)
is seeking a secretary/intake specialist to work in its
Greensboro Office, which provides free legal assistance in civil
matters to low-income persons in Guilford, Rockingham, Randolph,
Davidson, Rowan and Montgomery counties of North Carolina.
LANC is a statewide, nonprofit [501(c)(3)] law firm that provides
free legal services in civil matters to those households whose
income falls below 125% of the federal poverty guidelines.
Responsibilities & Duties:
General office duties such as typing, filing, maintaining files,
setting appointments, entering information in computer database,
answering the phone and directing calls, screening applicants for
services to determine eligibility and other office duties as
assigned.
Qualifications:
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, ability to communicate with
people of all educational levels and economic backgrounds, good
organizational skills, good computer skills. Legal experience
and experience working with low-income people are pluses.
Salary:
$21,850+ DOE. Excellent benefits package.
