Responsibilities & Duties:

The North Carolina Justice Center is seeking an attorney to expand its work defending against foreclosures.  The attorney will conduct impact litigation involving predatory lending, mortgage related fraud, and mortgage foreclosure defense.  Special emphasis will be on the development and implementation of strategies to address the wave of borrowers victimized by subprime “exotic” mortgage products, foreclosure “rescue” schemes and other deceptive and oppressive practices related to the purchase, financing and re-financing of homes.   The attorney will collaborate with other attorneys working on these issues across the state, both in private practice and at non-profit organizations.  The attorney will also assist with carrying out the Justice Center’s community education/media plan and will assist with research efforts regarding foreclosure issues. 

Qualifications:

Applicants should have at least 3 - 5 years of related experience, and must be admitted to practice in North Carolina.  Salary is commensurate with experience; excellent benefits are included.
