About John D. Lea
John
D. Lea worked with legal services organizations for 28 years,
retiring from his Private Attorney Involvement (PAI) Coordinator
position in January 2008.
Upon his retirement, Lea simply said: “My tenure with Legal Aid has
been a good thing for me and hopefully for my clients...I admonish
everyone to keep up the good work. Remember - The clock of
life is wound but once. No one has the power to tell when the
hands will stop, at late or early hour. Now is the only time
you own. Live, love, toil with a will, place no faith in
tomorrow, for the clock may then be still.”
Lea Support Staff Award Recipients
The first Lea Support Staff Award was presented
posthumously to John D. Lea on April 2, 2008 at the 2008 North Carolina
Legal Services Statewide Conference. The sons of Mr. Lea
accepted the award on his behalf.
