Law Day will be observed on May 1st in Pittsboro
and surrounding counties

NC) – Legal Aid of North
Carolina-Pittsboro Office has declared Friday, May 1, 2008 as “Law
Day” in the 11A (Lee Co.), 15A(Alamance Co.), 15B(Orange Co.), &
19B(Moore Co.) Judicial Districts of North Carolina.
To commemorate “Law Day,” attorneys of the 11A, 15A,
15B, & 19B Judicial District Bars will speak with high
school students across the area about the legal profession.
“We are excited about Law Day,” noted
Debbie Herndon, private
attorney involvement coordinator for LANC-Pittsboro Office.
“Law Day encourages students to examine the rule of
law, their role in protecting our communities, our democracy,
opportunity, equity and all that is most precious to us. Law
Day allows us to continue to strengthen that commitment.”
The Law Day Project promotes dialogue between local attorneys and
high school students to help students plan their career goals and
focuses the public’s attention on the fact that the legal profession
remains a profession of service.
The schools and attorneys in the following Judicial Districts:
11A, 15A, 15B, & 19B will participate in Law Day presentations
on May 1st: Eastern Alamance High School (Natalie
Jones of Natalie Jones Attorney at Law, Clyde Albright of the
Alamance County Attorneys Office, and
W. Phillip Moseley of
Holt,
Longest, Wall, Blaetz and Mosely); Carrboro High School (Jennifer
Galassi of Orange County Human Rights and Relations); Southern Lee
High School (Dr. Lisa Duncan of Central Carolina Community College ,
Kayley Taber Assistant District Attorney for Chatham County,
Robert Reives of
Wilson & Reives Atorneys At Law, and Richard Love, Central
Carolina Community College); North Moore High (Clifton F. “Frank”
Marley of Clifton F. Marley Attorney at Law); Pinecrest High
(Richard Bruce Conely of Richard Bruce Conly Attorney at Law,
Marcie Quist of Legal Aid of NC, David Crockett of Crockett, Oldham,
Pope & Donadio, and Richard Dedmond of Richard Dedmond Attorney at
Law.
