Celeste Harris named Chair of the Board of
Directors of Legal Aid of NC

Celeste M. Harris
of
Winston-Salem
was elected chair of the
board of directors of
Legal Aid of North
Carolina (LANC) during the 2011 LANC Annual Meeting in New Bern, N.C.
Harris is a Manger/Member of
Maynard &
Harris, PLLC, and specializes in Workers' Compensation, in
addition to handling other injury and Social Security disability
benefits matters. She is a graduate of St. Louis University School
of Law.
Harris is a member of the NC Bar Association and the NC Association
of Women Attorneys.
Harris has served on the LANC Board of Directors since 2008, serving
as Vice Chair since 2009. She has also served as Chair of the Local
Advisory Council for the LANC-Winston-Salem Office, and was honored
as the 2010 Volunteer Attorney of the Year. Harris has also been
honored for inclusion in North Carolina Super Lawyers
magazine in 2009, 2010 and 2011.
Harris succeeded Lisa Morgan of
Durham
as chair.

PLLC) as vice chair;
Thomas S. Berkau
of Smithfield (attorney at
law) as treasurer; and Phillip Leigh of Creswell
(client representative) as secretary.

counties in North Carolina through
