Domestic Violence/50B Training

On Wednesday, 10/24/07, from 2:30 until 6:00 PM, LANC's Raleigh
office will have its annual training for attorneys who want to
represent victims of domestic violence in 50B actions. The training
will take place at the offices of Hunton & Williams, 421
Fayetteville Street, Raleigh, NC. [MAP]
CLE:
Participants in the training will receive three (3.0) hours of
CLE credit. Each participant must agree to represent one
domestic violence victim pro bono in a 50B action before November
2008.This is a great opportunity for new attorneys to learn
everything from A to Z about assisting clients with getting a
domestic violence order. It is also an good way for new lawyers to
get courtroom experience.
Speakers:
Legal Aid of NC lawyers Suzanne Chester, Amy Vukovich and Atiya
Moseley, along with family law expert Lisa Angel, will conduct the
training. A Wake County District Court Judge will give a "view from
the bench."

You are welcome to join us in Raleigh on 10/24 for the training.
Just let us know in advance that you are coming so we can have
enough materials prepared.
