Legal Aid of NC to move to new office in New Bern
June 3, 2011 Media
Release, LANC-New Bern Office
(New Bern, NC) – Beginning June 10,
Legal Aid of
North Carolina will serve its clients from its new office at
1402 Neuse Boulevard in New Bern.
“We
have served our clients over the past 30 years from the Pollock
Street location in the Historic District of New Bern,” said
David Caddigan, managing attorney of Legal Aid of NC’s New
Bern office, “but we have simply outgrown the office space there. We
believe that our new location at 1402 Neuse Boulevard will be more
convenient and more visible for our clients and will also provide
additional office space in which to serve our clients.”
In addition to the relocation, the
LANC-New Bern Office will also be celebrating its 30th
Anniversary as a legal services provider in civil matters for
low-income clients.
“Since our beginnings in 1981 as Pamlico Sound Legal Services and
now as Legal Aid of North Carolina-New Bern Office, we have provided
high quality legal services in civil matters to our low-income
community,” said Caddigan. “By moving to a larger and more
convenient location, we expect to further expand our capacity to
serve our clients while continuing our standards of excellence.”
The
LANC-New Bern Office serves eligible clients in
Beaufort, Carteret, Craven, Jones and Pamlico Counties.
LANC’s legal staff helps children, families, individuals and
eligible immigrants who cannot afford a private attorney to solve
problems that affect their basic needs, such as the prevention of
homelessness and eradication of substandard housing, safety from
domestic violence or abuse, health care (Medicare or Medicaid),
subsistence income (SSI or Medicaid) and consumer loan problems by
providing direct legal assistance to individual clients and
conducting community education and outreach.
