Events in North Carolina
Legal services Community
Legal Aid of NC and the legal services community are sponsor
and/or participate in numerous events, including
clinics, continuing
legal education (CLEs),
task force meetings and
conferences.
The "Community Education Calendar" posts free community legal education events (clinic
and forums) that
are sponsored by
Legal Aid of North Carolina and/or North Carolina's legal aid
organizations. These events are designed to help LANC CLIENTS
and the community learn about and protect
their legal rights in the specific areas of the law.
The "CLE Calendar" posts
continuing legal education (CLE)
events are offered periodically by Legal Aid of North Carolina
to provide ATTORNEYS and ADVOCATES with information, resources
and and guidance on substantive areas of the law that are
encountered in cases involving LANC clients. Participants
are asked to provide pro bono service during the following 12
months, e.g., at least one case for a LANC client.
Advocates from legal services programs in North Carolina meet
periodically in "task force" groups to discuss and receive
training on impact issues in substantive areas of the law.
