William H. “Bill” Lambe, Jr. of
Durham was elected to the
board of directors of
Legal Aid of North Carolina (LANC)
during the 2007 LANC Annual Meeting in Asheville, N.C.
Lambe will serve on the LANC Board as a representative from the NC
State Bar IOLTA (Interest On Lawyers’ Trust Accounts) Program.
Lambe is an attorney and partner in the law firm of
Walker, Lambe, Rhudy & Costley, PLLC,
in Durham, and a 1973 graduate of the Wake Forest University School
of Law.
Among his professional associations, Lambe has served as past
President and Treasurer of the Durham County Bar Association, and as
a member of the NC Bar Association; NC Bar Association Real Estate
Section Continuing Education Committee (1991-94); NC Bar Association
Labor & Employment and Business Law Sections; Durham County Bar
Association, 14th Judicial District Bar (Treasurer, 1986-87; Vice
President, 1990-91; President, 1992-93); NC State Bar, and a past
member of the Board of Trustees of IOLTA.
Lambe has also served as vice chair of the Oversight &
Implementation Committee for the NC Bar Association, which examined
the delivery of legal services to the poor in North Carolina.
Legal Aid of North Carolina (LANC)
is a statewide, nonprofit law firm that provides free legal
services in civil matters to eligible, low-income people in all 100
counties in North Carolina through 24, geographically located
offices in North Carolina. LANC’s clients typically have an
annual income of 125% or less of the federally established poverty
levels.
