Legal Aid of NC offers tax CLE for attorneys August 15

(Greenville, NC) – Legal Aid of NC’s will offer a training
session on August 15 in Greenville for attorneys who are interested
in representing low-income taxpayers in controversies with the
Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
The session is free for attorneys who agree to accept two pro bono
cases or matters from Legal Aid of NC (LANC) during the next 12
months. Participating attorneys can earn three CLEs (Continuing
Education Credits).
“The speakers for this training will discuss how to begin a tax case
and how to resolve the case by working within the IRS regulations,”
says Sandy Murillo, LANC staff attorney and coordinator for the
session. “Other individuals interested in learning more about this
topic are encouraged to attend.”
The training, entitled “Low-Income Taxpayer Advocacy with the IRS,”
will be held in Room 143 of the Leslie Building on the Pitt
Community College campus in Greenville.
