E. Spencer Parris of Raleigh was elected to the board of
directors of
Legal Aid of
North Carolina
(LANC) at its Spring meeting in Durham, NC.
Parris will serve on the LANC Board as a representative from the NC
Advocates for Justice.
Parris is an attorney in the law firm of
Martin &
Jones, PLLC, in Raleigh, NC, and concentrates his practice in
handling personal injury and product liability claims. Over
the past two decades, he has represented clients from more than 20
states.
Parris is a 1983 graduate of the University of South Carolina School
of Law. He is a past president of the
NC Advocates for
Justice and also is a member of
American Association for Justice and the
National Trial Lawyers.
Legal Aid of
North Carolina
(LANC) is a statewide, nonprofit law firm that provides
free legal services in civil matters to eligible, low-income people
in all 100 counties in North Carolina through 24, geographically
located offices in North Carolina. LANC’s clients typically have an
annual income of 125% or less of the federally established poverty
levels. In 2010, LANC closed approximately 25,000 cases across North
