Toni Pinkston named managing attorney of Legal Aid of NC’s Fayetteville office

D. Toni Pinkston, Legal Aid of NC-Fayetteville Office(Fayetteville, NC) – D. Toni Pinkston is the newly appointed managing attorney of the Fayetteville office of Legal Aid of North Carolina (LANC).
In her new position, Pinkston will manage all aspects of the LANC law practice in the Fayetteville and Hoke County area and supervise a seven-member staff, including four attorneys, a paralegal and two support staffers.
"Our office staff, in cooperation with the local community, is devoted to providing low-income residents and senior citizens of Cumberland County and Hoke County with quality legal services and resources that will enable them to understand and protect their legal rights," said Pinkston.
Pinkston is a 1982 graduate of NC State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in political science and a minor in criminal justice.  She earned a certificate in paralegal studies from Meredith College in 1988 and worked as a litigation paralegal in the Raleigh area until 2004 when she obtained her Juris Doctorate from the NC Central University School of Law.
Pinkston has served as a legal officer in the Estates Division in the Wake County Courthouse and in private practice administering estates and guardianships.  She also has worked in the Centralized Intake Unit of Legal Aid of North Carolina.  Currently, Pinkston is also pursuing a Master of Law in Legal Administration from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law.
Pinkston is a member of the NC Bar Association.  While in Raleigh, she was an active member of the Wake County Bar Association (WCBA), serving on the WCBA’s Fee Dispute Resolution Committee, Swearing in Committee and the Social Committee.
Legal Aid of North Carolina (LANC) is a statewide nonprofit law firm that provides free legal services in civil matters to eligible, low-income residents. LANC serves all 100 counties of North Carolina through 24 geographically located offices across the state.  The LANC-Fayetteville Office serves Cumberland and Hoke counties.
