Our
Work
The
Farmworker
Unit
of
LANC
was
established
to
meet
the
special
legal
needs
of
migrant
and
seasonal
farmworkers
in
North
Carolina.
The
Farmworker
Unit
and
its
predecessor
organization,
Farmworker
Legal
Services
of
North
Carolina, have
defended
the
civil
rights
of
farmworkers
for
over
25
years.
Through
legal
representation
and
client
advocacy
we
strive
to
ensure
that
farmworkers
receive
equal
protection
under
the
law. The
Unit
addresses
the
legal
needs
of
farmworkers
through
several
program
initiatives. These
include:
Legal Representation of farmworkers and their families in civil matters
Outreach and
Education to farmworkers about their legal rights
Community Education to the public about farmworker issues.
